The proposal to set up a Centre for Disability Studies at Delhi University is one step closer to reality after a panel, formed to make recommendations for the centre, recently submitted its report to the Vice-Chancellor.
The centre will look into research, training and teaching of disability studies. The plans have been in the works for a couple of years now and is mandated by the Right of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, said Anil Aneja, chairperson of the eight-member panel.
