The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Friday approved the “Draft Regulations for Enhancing Walkability and Green Mobility” in the Capital.
Areas, including ITO, Delhi University’s North and South Campus, Chandni Chowk, Uttam Nagar, ISBT, INA, Nehru Place and Karol Bagh, were shortlisted, where the regulations will be rolled out. “The policy aims to improve pedestrian friendly walkability by creating a quality urban environment that facilitates social interaction on streets where more people are encouraged to walk as their first choice to undertake short journeys,” the DDA said in a statement.
