As part of its dengue prevention efforts, the Salem Corporation has collected a fine of ₹14.82 lakh in one month from its limits for unhygienic upkeep of premises.
The corporation has been conducting various awareness campaigns as part of its dengue prevention efforts across 60 wards under it. According to Corporation officials, the civic body has deployed 2,000 sanitary workers, 60 malaria workers, 60 sanitary supervisors, 750 mosquito larvae removers, 30 persons for propaganda, in total 2840 workers across its four zones, Hasthampatti, Ammapet, Sooramangalam and Kondalampatti as part of dengue prevention activities.
