Wholesale inflation rose to 2.59% in December 2019, compared to 0.58% in November that year, government data released on Tuesday showed. Prices of all primary articles rose by 11.46%, and those of food articles by 13.24%.
Prices of onions increased by a whooping 455.83%, compared to December 2018. Wholesale prices of vegetables showed the second highest increase at 69.69%. On Monday, government data had shown that retail prices of vegetables had risen by 60.5%.
