MUMBAI: Putting pressure on the Maharashtra government to do more for drought-hit regions in the state, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar has called the current drought situation in the state worse than the one in 1972.

Pawar has written to Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis asking him to intervene and make sure that more state aid is sent to the affected regions.
