Private equity firm The Carlyle Group has agreed to acquire a 25% stake in the data centre business of Bharti Airtel Ltd for $235 million (Rs 1,775 crore), the two firms said on Wednesday.
Bharti Airtel will continue to hold the remaining 75% stake in Nxtra Data Ltd, the Indian telecom operator said in a statement.
The post-money enterprise valuation of Nxtra is about $1.2 billion, it added.
The transaction is subject to the necessary regulatory approvals, including clearance from the Competition Commission of India.
