Chennai, Mar 03: Expelled AIADMK Chief VK Sasikala, who was released from jail in January has quit politics and public life. She urged ‘true supporters of Amma’ to work like siblings and ensure Jayalalithaa’s ‘golden rule continues.
“I have never been after power or position even when Jaya (J Jayalalithaa) was alive. Won’t do that after she is dead. (I am) quitting politics but I pray that her party wins, and her legacy goes on,” Sasikala said in a statement.
She appealed to Jayalalithaa’s ‘true supporters’ to work unitedly in the April 6 elections and prevent ‘common enemy’, DMK, identified as ‘evil force’ by the late chief minister, from coming to power.
Appalled by her decision, Dhinakaran said, “I came to know a while ago. Chinamma had called me. I tried to convince her to not take the decision. However, she had made up her mind. She said this is right. I don’t speak for her….
