Berhampur: Snake Helpline volunteers with the help of the locals rescued two huge pythons, one of which had precariously sneaked into an earth remover (JCB machine), near an embankment at Gumula village on the outskirts of the city on Sunday night.
According to reports, while a JCB machine was engaged in digging a canal for a beautification drive of the water body, two pythons suddenly emerged from the spot. Even as workers engaged at the site went for cover after spotting the massive pythons, one of the reptiles, which was around 11 feet long, entered the bonnet of the JCB machine.
Hearing the news, locals rushed to the spot and tried unsuccessfully to bring the python out of the giant machine. Later on being informed, two local Snake Helpline volunteers reached the spot and rescued both the reptiles. The huge snakes were released in a nearby forest in the…
