Prabhudas Lilladher Report

Our channel checks indicate volume de-growth for two-wheelers and passenger vehicles. Though sales for both segments are expected to be weak, passenger vehicle sales are faring better than the two-wheeler segment on the back of huge order backlogs.

Demand remains strong for passenger vehicles, especially sports utility vehicles and luxury cars, but supply shortage is creating extended waiting periods.

In two-wheeler, premium bike sales are affected due to semiconductors. Two-wheeler retails are likely to remain low until rural sentiments improve – higher ownership costs, fuel costs and erratic monsoons have affected demand.

Commercial vehicle sales will continue to witness improving demand due to improving fleet utilisation, freight availability and easier financing.
