Honda has largely been riding on the back of Honda City and Amaze’s success. Without a shred of doubt, the Honda City has been a very popular sedan in the Indian market. Even the enthusiasts prefer it because of its iconic i-VTec engine. Then Amaze came along as a smaller sedan and was an instant success. However, apart from these two cars, Honda was never able to translate this success to its entire portfolio. Now, owing to constant declining sales, it has decided to pull the plug on its flagship SUV and Sedan, CR-V and Civic.

Apart from poor sales, it has decided to shift its production plant from Greater Noida to Taapukara, Rajasthan. Now, having a limited production capacity there, Honda had to either choose which models to manufacture there or invest more to enable the production of every vehicle. But investing in upgrading the production plant to manufacture products that are not very successful…
