Latest Post Office Savings Schemes Interest Rates April – June 2024 declared on 8th March 2024. What are the interest rates of PPF, SSY, SCSS, NSC, and MIS?
Usually, the Government publishes the interest rates quarterly. However, this time (maybe due to the upcoming Loksabha elections) the Government published the interest rate applicable for all post office small savings schemes for the period of April to June 2024 well in advance.
Earlier the interest rates used to be announced yearly once. However, from 2016-17, the rate of interest will be fixed quarterly. I already wrote a detailed post on this. I am providing the link to that earlier post below.
Below is the timetable for change in interest rates for all Post Office Savings Schemes.
You noticed that as per the above schedule, the government has to publish interest rates on 15th March or before 1st April 2024. However, this time, it was published well in advance.
