Mumbai: Benchmark indices ended the session on 11th October on a negative note on the back of negative global cues. From the start of the session, all indices witnessed weakness and never really recovered during the session and ended near the day low. Sensex ended the session down 843 points to close at 57,147, down 1.4%. Nifty declined 257 points to close at 16,983 down 1.5%. About 1,084 shares have advanced, 2,315 shares declined, and 128 shares remained unchanged. 144 stocks hit their 52-week high while 43 stocks hit their 52-week low.
Axis Bank was the top gainer in the Nifty 50 index up ~1% followed by Adani Ent. up 0.8%. Divis Lab was down 5% and was the top loser in Nifty followed by JSW Steel down 3.8%. Over 90% of Nifty constituents declined today. Renuka, Chalet, CG Power, Kalpatru Power, and Shoppers stock were a few stocks that hit their 52-week high today.
