While the two Sydney teams have been flying high in the points table, the Melbourne ones have floundered a little bit. Even though the Stars picked themselves up after three losses, the Renegades have had a poor 2020-21 Big Bash League (BBL) campaign after winning their first game and losing five.
Skipper Aaron Finch hasn’t fired with the bat, the bowlers have gone for runs, nothing seems to have worked for the Renegades thus far. Their problems will only rise as the only bright spot for them has been Shaun Marsh, who will return to home for the birth of his third child, while the experienced South African batsman Rilee Rossouw is out due to his hamstring injury.
The men in blue, on the other hand, Adelaide Strikers have blown hot and cold in their seven matches so far. They have won three and are coming off from two consecutive losses. Strikers still have bright chances of making into the top five with at least four wins needed out of the remaining 7 games.
