Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik get first dose of COVID-19 vaccine

Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Patna. 

Coincidentally, today is also the chief minister’s birthday. Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished Kumar on his birthday and praised him for undertaking numerous measures for the development of the state.

“Best wishes to Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Ji on his birthday. Under his leadership, the NDA Government in Bihar is undertaking numerous measures for developing the state. Praying for his long and healthy life,” PM Modi tweeted.

This comes as PM Modi was also administered the vaccine at AIIMS Delhi on Monday morning. The PM was given a dose of Covaxin which has been developed indigenously by biotechnology firm Bharat Biotech and the Indian Council of Medical Research.
