Bhubaneswar: Manoranjan Sarangi, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Odisha Television Limited (OTV) said that the crime branch staff who picked him up from his residence in the wee hours on Sunday without any intimation or notice, subjected him to inhuman treatment during detention for several hours.
Sarangi said he was woken up from his sleep by the sleuths in the morning hours and was harassed by the officials of the probe agency without any fault. A diabetic with high blood pressure problems, Sarangi was even denied food and medicines by the sleuths who whisked him away without citing any reason, his family said.
Meanwhile, sharp criticisms and condemnation have poured in from several quarters over the ill-treatment and harassment meted out to Sarangi that left his family, including his 92-year-old ailing mother, in a state of shock and dismay.
