Amid the rising cases of COVID-19 in the country, various states including Karnataka and Maharashtra have reported a shortage in vaccines.
India is augmenting COVID-19 vaccine supplies on a war footing, said Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan.
Dr Harsh Vardhan on Friday stated that amid shortage of COVID-19 vaccine in the country, production of Covaxin vaccine will be increased by ten times i.e, Covaxin production will be increased from 10 million doses every month to 100 million doses by September 2021.
“Augmenting COVID19Vaccine supplies on war footing! Production of Covaxin to be increased from 1 cr doses/month currently to 10 cr by Sep 2021 by enhancing capacity & adding more manufacturers. Grants for same are being provided by DBTIndia under its mission COVID suraksha,” Dr Harsh Vardhan wrote in his tweet.
