Bhubaneswar: At a time when the rising COVID-19 cases are giving jitters to many across Odisha, the curve seems to be flattening in the Smart City, said Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner, Prem Chandra Chaudhary on Tuesday.
“COVID-19 scenario in Bhubaneswar is now on plateau mode. As per studies across the world, there is usually a peak, plateau and decline. We hope that the same trend will be in Bhubaneswar as well,” said Chaudhary.
The BMC Commissioner further informed that the Capital city used to report around 400 to 500 COVID-19 cases per day but it has come down to 300 to 325 cases per day.
“The COVID-19 cases are now plateauing and ICMR study also suggests that the graph will decline further. With all things open, we are managing the situation and hopefully COVID-19 cases will come down gradually,” Chaudhary added.
