Publishing house HarperCollins on Wednesday said the Delhi High Court’s decision to allow the publication of a book on religious leader Asaram’s conviction and arrest in a rape case was a victory for free speech. “This book is an honest account of the evil that men do in the name of religion,” said Diya Kar, a publisher at HarperCollins
The book, titled Gunning for the Godman: The True Story Behind Asaram Bapu’s Conviction, was scheduled to be published by HarperCollins on September 5. It is a first-hand account of the religious leader’s arrest and conviction by police officer Ajay Lamba, along with writer Sanjeev Mathur.
