If you will not link your Aadhaar card with your PF account by September 1, you will lose out on your EPF and PF benefits. Yes, that’s right. The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has made it mandatory for Employees Provident Fund (EPF) subscribers to link their PF UAN (Universal Account Number) with Aadhaar Card to get the contributions towards PF from employers and other benefits. 

The deadline to link Aadhaar with the UAN number was earlier deferred from June 1, 2021 to September 1, 2021. 

The new rule has been amended under Section 142, which provides for establishing the identity of an employee or an unorganized worker or any other person through the Aadhaar Card, of the Code of Social Security 2020. Section 142 establishes identity for an individual so that he or she can seek benefits or avail the benefits provided under the Code.
