Keeping in trend with other states and classes, the Gujarat government has decided to reopen the schools for the students in the state studying from classes 6 to 8. In its announcement on Saturday (February 13), the state government said it will reopen the schools from February 18 but the attendance will not be compulsory as the online classes are going to continue.
The state government’s move was taken to safeguard the long-term interests of the students of these classes, as the coronavirus cases in the state have declined. Still, the schools will adhere to strict COVID-19 safety protocols and guidelines as they resume physical classes for students of classes 6 to 8. Masks and physical distancing will be mandatory for teachers and students in schools.
