Health Ministry all set to roll out COVID-19 vaccine; First shots likely on January 13

New Delhi, Jan 06: The Union Health Ministry has said it is all set to roll out vaccine for COVID-19 within about a week. According to report, the inoculation could begin from January 13. However, a final decision on the launch date is yet to be taken.

According to Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, the ministry is ready to introduce vaccine within 10 days from the date of emergency use authorisation.

On Sunday, the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) approved Oxford-AstraZeneca’s Covishield and indigenously developed Covaxin of Bharat Biotech for restricted emergency use in the country.
