Olympic medallist Sakshi Malik has hailed a Delhi court’s order to frame charges against BJP leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh in the wrestlers’ sexual harassment case. Brij Bhushan, the former chief of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), has been accused by six women wrestlers of sexual harassment.
Speaking after the court order, Sakshi Malik called it a triumph for their cause.
Malik stated, “It’s a win for us and our fight. This will teach young girls to speak up. We have set an example. We are hoping he will get punished. We have seen tough times but we are being rewarded now. We can’t stop now, we are only thinking about our future.”
Fellow wrestler Bajrang Punia said, “Charges have been framed against Brij Bhushan. Thanks to the honourable court. This is a big victory for the struggle of women wrestlers.
