IPL 2020 – No cheerleaders, no opening ceremony and no stadium access for media

The IPL 2020 will finally be played after a delay of six months with Mumbai Indians taking on the Chennai Super Kings at the Sheikh Abu Zayed stadium in Abu Dhabi on September 19. Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians, the four-time IPL champions will square off against MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings who have won the title three times. However, the IPL will be played in the ‘new normal’ amidst a strict bio-bubble.

These has resulted in several changes. According to the information from the BCCI, there will be no opening ceremony in IPL 2020 and due to the social distancing norms, there will be no cheerleaders as well in the UAE. The IPL 2019 opening ceremony was cancelled even in 2019 due to the terror attack on the CRPF convoy in Pulwama which killed over 40 soliders. However, there will be no stadium access to the media.
