Red Bull Racing on Friday gave Jehan Daruvala a one-year extension, adding that the upcoming Indian racer will continue racing with Carlin in the upcoming Formula 2 season.
The 22-year-old had created history last month when he successfully finished his debut FIA Formula 2 Championship with his first race win after a podium finish the week prior.
Daruvala’s continuation in the Red Bull Junior Program came after his standout performances in arguably one of the most competitive seasons ever where 16 different drivers were on the podium while 12 of them won a race each.
Daruvala was also the fastest overall in the official post season testing, besides finishing on top in two out of the three days of testing.
