Notably, in 2018 Siddheshwar Swami had written to PM Modi refusing to accept the Padma Shri award which was conferred upon him.

Bengaluru, Jan 02: Senior Lingayat pontiff and famous Karnataka seer Siddeshwara Swamiji (81), of the Jnana Yogashram passed away at his ashram in Vijayapura.

His mortal remains will be kept at Sainik school grounds on Tuesday, over 10 lakh people expected to pay their respect. According to the ashram, the final rites of the seer will be performed as per his wishes which he had recorded on ‘Guru Purnima’ day of 2014.

The seer was suffering from various age-related ailments but had refused to take treatment other than pain relief.
