Legal trouble for former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, here’s why

Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh’s Instagram Live with Rohit Sharma in 2020 has landed him legal trouble. The 2011 World Cup-winning cricketer has an FIR registered against him for his ‘casteist remark’ he made while talking with the Hitman. 

The comment made by Yuvraj was deemed to be in bad taste towards the Dalit community and it didn’t go down well with the netizens as well.

The complaint has been lodged by an advocate from the Hisar Division of Haryana for Yuvraj’s comments. If reports are to be believed, the Haryana police have registered an FIR on the case almost eight months after Yuvraj had spoken on the Instagram Live.

According to India Today report, the Hansi police in Hisar have filed a case under Sections 153, 153A, 295, 505 of IPC, besides sections 3 (1) (r) and 3 (1) (s) of the SC/ST Act.
