‘Master’ star Vijay Sethupathi apologises for cutting birthday cake with sword after photo goes viral

Actor Vijay Sethupati, who is basking in the success of his recent film ‘Master’, has found himself in the middle of a controversy on a day when he celebrates his 43rd birthday. 

A photo of the ‘Aandavan Kattalai’ star celebrating his special day and cutting a birthday cake with a sword earlier this week, recently surfaced on social media and ever since has been going viral on the Internet for all the wrong reasons. 

For the unversed, earlier this week, the ‘Master’ star had celebrated his birthday on the sets of his upcoming film with director Ponram.

Subsequently, after netizens pointed out that the actor had committed an offence and should be arrested, given that the Chennai police has on earlier occasions arrested goons for using a sword to cut their birthday cakes, the actor issues a detailed statement, apologising for his action and promising to be careful in future.
