NIA arrests nine alleged Al Qaeda militants from locations in West Bengal, Kerala

The National Investigation Agency arrested nine suspected Al Qaeda militants from locations in West Bengal and Kerala on Saturday, NDTV reported. The investigation agency conducted raids in West Bengal’s Murshidabad and Kerala’s Ernakulam districts.

“NIA had learnt about an inter-state module of Al-Qaeda operatives at various locations in India including West-Bengal and Kerala,” a statement from the agency read. “The group was planning to undertake terrorist attacks at vital installations in India with an aim to kill innocent people and strike terror in their minds.”
