No Cut In DA For Central Government Employees

7th Pay Commission: Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, a message has been doing the rounds claiming that the Centre has withdrawn its order to suspend dearness allowance (DA).

The Centre has clarified that it is fake news as it has not passed any such order.

“It has been decided that the additional instalment of Dearness Allowance payable to Central Government employees and Dearness Relief to Central Government pensioners due from 1st January 2020 shall not be paid. The additional instalment of Dearness allowance and Dearness relief due from 1st July 2020 and 1st January 2020 shall not be paid. However, Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief at current rates will continue to be paid,” Centre’s April order had said.

This order has not been withdrawn, though there are several news related to it have been making rounds.
