Salipur: A local BJP leader was allegedly murdered by unidentified assailants here near Jankoti in Cuttack district on Saturday evening.
The deceased identified as Kulamani Barala, BJP’s Mandal Prabhari of Salipur and former block chairman of Mahanga was returning to home on bike. Some miscreants reportedly attacked him near Jankoti with weapons leaving him critically injured. Later, he was immediately shifted to Mahanga Community Health Centre (CHC) where doctors declared him dead.
Another associate of the slain BJP leader who accompanied him to his home also faced the wrath of the attackers. He is critically injured and has been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, informed PK Jena, additional district Superintendent of Police.
