Bhubaneswar: A day after the release of PAI-2020 (Public Affairs Index-2020) which put Odisha near the bottom of the list of best-governed states in the country, Opposition political parties and intellectuals showed no mercy in targeting the State government and alleged pathetic governance as the reason for the poor performance of the state.
Kerala was adjudged the best-governed state in the country while Uttar Pradesh ended at the bottom in the large states category.
After UP, Odisha and Bihar were at the bottom of the ranking, scoring negative points in the category with -1.201 and -1.158 points respectively.
According to the PAC, the governance performance is analysed in the context of sustainable development defined by three pillars of equity, growth and sustainability. And unfortunately, Odisha fared poorly in all three parameters.
