Communist Party of India MP Binoy Viswam wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging him “to allot some time to MPs from smaller parties to share their opinions and suggestions on the pandemic” during the all-party meeting to be held on December 4 on the coronavirus. Viswam said that he has been informed that parties with less than 10 MPs will be silent participants in the meeting and those with more members will be allowed to speak.
India’s coronavirus cases rose by 31,118 on Tuesday, the health ministry data showed, making it the 24th straight day that daily infections have stayed below the 50,000 mark after witnessing a peak in September. The country now has total 94,62,810 cases, while as many as 88,89,585 people have recovered so far. Deaths rose by 482 in the last 24 hours and the toll stood at 1,37,621.
