New Delhi, Feb 13: In a first, the University of Oxford along with AstraZeneca Plc has launched a study to assess the safety and immune response of the COVID-19 vaccine among the children. This is seen as a potential step in ending the global pandemic.
The new trial will determine whether the vaccine is effective on people between the ages of 6 and 17, according to an emailed statement from the university.
The trial announced Saturday seeks to recruit 300 volunteers between the ages of 6 and 17, with up to 240 receiving the COVID-19 vaccine and the remainder a control meningitis vaccine.
