Blast outside poll candidate’s office kills 14 in Balochistan ahead of Pakistan’s election. No group has claimed responsibility yet

At least 14 people were killed and dozens more wounded on Wednesday by a blast outside a poll candidate’s office in southwestern Balochistan province on the eve of Pakistan’s election.

The attack took place in the Pishin district, around 50 kilometres from the city of Quetta. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, which came a day before Pakistan is set to hold parliamentary elections.

Balochistan’s caretaker minister Mir Zubair Khan Jamali took notice of the “suicide blast” outside a political party’s office of independent candidate Asfandyar Kaka. In a statement, he expressed regret over the lives lost in the incident and sought a report…
