India vice-captain Rohit Sharma on Friday hit the batting nets for the first time since arriving in Australia as he gears up for the third Test against Australia.
While the team is currently training in Melbourne, the team will head to Sydney on Monday. Taking to Twitter, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted a video in which Rohit can be seen hitting the ball hard in the nets. “The wait is over! Earlier in the day, BCCI appointed the opening batsman as Ajinkya Rahane’s deputy for the last two Tests of the series. Rohit, who joined his teammates after completing his 14-day quarantine period on Wednesday, will take over the reins from Cheteshwar Pujara.
