Samyukt Kisan Morcha to send teams from farm unions to poll-bound States, rally planned in Kolkata

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) announced on Tuesday that it has decided to send teams from the farm unions to election-bound States. Elections to the Assemblies of Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry and West Bengal, will be held from March 27 till April 29, and counting on May 2.

“They will not support any particular party, but they will appeal to people not to vote for the BJP, as the Modi government is not treating farmers fairly,” said farmer leader Balbir Singh Rajewal in Delhi.

“On March 6, when the movement will complete 100 days of protests outside Delhi, farmers will block the entire length of the Western Peripheral Expressway or Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway from 11 a.m to 4 p.m,” he added.
