Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday decided to impose Section 144 of the CrPC in 11 districts of the state amidst rising COVID-19 cases.
According to the official notification released by the Rajasthan government, Section 144 has been imposed in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Ajmer, Alwar, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Udaipur, Sikar, Pali and Nagaur districts.
The decision was taken in a review meeting chaired by CM Gehlot. The meeting was attended by Health Minister Raghu Sharma, Chief Secretary Rajeeva Swarup, Principal Secretary (Home) Abhay Kumar, Principal Secretary (Medical and Health) Akhil Arora and other officials.
Moreover, it has also decided to impose a ban on social or religious functions till October 31.
However, 20 people have been permitted to attend funeral and 50 for marriage functions.
