Slightly more number of people under 20 years affected in second wave than first, says Centre

The Centre on Tuesday said slightly more number of people under 20 years of age were affected in the second wave than the first. During the second wave, 11.62% Covid cases were seen in below 20 years age group while it was 11.31% during the first wave.

Bharat Biotech on Tuesday said the supply price of its vaccine, Covaxin, to the central government at Rs 150 per dose is not sustainable in the long run. A higher price in private markets was necessary to “offset part of the costs”, the manufacturer said.

Meanwhile, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced extension of restrictions till June 22, with certain relaxations. All offices – government and private – can now remain open till 5 pm, shops can operate till 6 pm. A night curfew will be in place till 5 am.
