Temperatures fall across Kashmir, Srinagar records minus 5.6° celsius

As temperatures fell across Kashmir, MET recorded minus 5.6°C in Srinagar, while Gulmarg shivered at minus 13.4 °C.

Cold wave intensified across Kashmir Valley after two days of respite from cold. MET recorded a temperature of minus 5.6 degrees Celsius, freezing all water taps and water bodies in Kashmir.

Similarly, the temperatures settled at minus 12.3°C in Pahalgam. Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 13.4°C against 12.0°C earlier night, Qazigund recorded minus 10.5°C, and  Kokernag recorded minus 10.7°C, a handout of Srinagar metrological department stated. 

MET predicted mainly dry cold weather for next 24 hours. However, another wet spell of rain and snowfall in Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh is predicted from January 31 which will intensify on February 2 and February 3.
