Instant messaging app WhatsApp has reportedly started rolling a new feature that would enable users to mute videos before sharing them on the platform. As per a report by WABetaInfo, the feature has been currently rolled out for Android beta users and will be made public soon.

This update is for beta users-version 2.21.3.13, which includes a toggle that can mute a video. The report further reveals that this toggle will appear with other editing options such as trimming, adding text, stickers and more.

WhatsApp may first extend the feature on beta build for iOS, before the mass rollout, reported News18.

The Mute Video feature first appeared in WhatsApp for Android app Beta v2.20.207.2 in November 2020, but it was only under development at that time. More details over its rollout are expected soon.
