UGC releases new guidelines for colleges reopening, here’s what students should know

The University Grants Commission (UGC), in order to ensure the safety of the students, has issued a list of post-COVID-19 guidelines for the reopening of colleges and universities across the country. The educational institutions were closed since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown.

Colleges reopening guidelines issued by UGC

1. As per the guidelines released by the UGC, the Universities and college campuses will be functioning with 50% of students in attendance while the outside college activities will be restricted to prevent overcrowding.

2. The educational institutions will also have to make sure that before the reopening of any of the university campuses, the Central and concerned state governments must declare the area safe for reopening of the educational institutions.
