Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam range police deputy inspector general (DIG) Gopinath Jatti has directed police officials to intensify their efforts against marijuana cultivation, trafficking, and consumption across the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Manyam Parvatipuram, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Anakapalli.
Addressing a video conference with superintendents of police (SPs) and other officers coming within the Visakhapatnam range, the DIG underlined, “We must identify and swiftly confiscate assets belonging to individuals profiting from marijuana trafficking.”
The drive against the traffickers is part of the “Sankalpam” programme, which focuses on enforcement, rehabilitation and preventive measures to combat the growing marijuana problem in the region.
