Weapons dropped from drone seized in Rajouri; three held: J&K police

The J&K police on Saturday said three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) members were arrested along with weapons, dropped by a drone from across the Line of Control (LoC), on Saturday.

“Three persons had travelled from Kashmir to Rajouri to receive a weapon and cash consignment from across the LoC from a drone. On Friday, the trio was chased by the police and Army. One of them hurled a grenade at the forces, which luckily didn’t explode after and all the three were caught alive,” Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh said ,during a press conference in Rajouri.

The police said the three arrested were located in Gurdan near Rajouri town. The arrested were identified as Rahil Bashir alias Ayan Bhai and Amir Jaan alias Hamza from Pulwama, and Hafiz Younis Wani alias Zubair from Shopian.

“Amir alias Hamza is the one who threw a hand grenade on the search party,” the police said.
