Chemena Kamali Appointed Creative Director of Chloé

In the never-ending saga of musical chairs within the world of fashion, Chemena Kamali has been named Chloé’s new creative director, following the exit of Gabriela Hearst. Hearst took her last bow as the brand’s creative director during Paris Fashion Week, following a three-year tenure at the helm of the French fashion house which was founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion.
Seven decades later, Kamali now ranks alongside fashion legends such as Karl Lagerfeld, Phoebe Philo and Clare Waight Keller who’ve all completed a stint at Chloé throughout their storied careers.
Born in Germany, Kamali graduated Central Saint Martin’s University of the Arts in 2007 and holds two years worth of Chloé experience, having worked under the direction of both Phoebe Philo and Claire Waight Keller. Prior to her return and new role as creative director of the house, Kamali was previously at Saint Laurent under Anthony Vaccarello.
