Tamil Nadu state board schools are set to reopen on June 6 following the conclusion of summer vacation. The school education department has instructed all Chief Educational Officers (CEOs) to prepare for the reopening.
Earlier this year, Tamil Nadu announced early summer holidays for students in classes I to IX due to the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April 19. The Directorate of School Education and Elementary Education declared the summer holidays on April 13.
“Due to the elections, all government, government-aided, and private schools in Tamil Nadu conducted final exams for classes I to IX from April 2 to 12. Teachers attended election training during this period,” stated the circular issued at that time.
Teachers were directed to complete the evaluation of answer scripts, release results, and facilitate admissions for the next academic year from April 23 to 26. The academic year concluded on April 26.
