Why New Zealand Has A Special Place In Our Hearts

Australia and New Zealand have always had a special relationship, from fierce sporting rivals to allies in major military actions which have shaped the identities of both nations. As our national day of remembrance approaches it is an excellent reminder of the extraordinary bond we share. While many observe the meaning of the day on an infamous beach on a distant shore, we pause to consider the significance of our continued support over centuries and how we can support our cuzzies across the ditch now. Perhaps we have taken their laid back friendship and close proximity for granted all these years, with many of us putting New Zealand on our list of places to visit but never quite making it there. As borders have reopened to travel freely, there has never been a better time to get around to it. With ANZAC Day around the corner, we wanted to honour our kiwi comrades with a look at what makes the country so special.
