Create awareness on benefits of Farm Laws: Narendra Singh Tomar to agriculture graduates

New Delhi: Agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar has asked more than 15,000 agriculture graduates in 74 universities to “create awareness” about the “benefits” of agriculture reforms and the three farm laws against which 40 farmers’ unions have been holding an agitation at Delhi’s Singhu border close to a month.

Addressing students in a video conference organised by Indian Council of Agricultural Research in New Delhi on Monday, Tomar said the new farm laws would “revolutionise” the agriculture sector.

“Young and progressive agri graduates should study and understand the new farm laws. It will benefit farmers and farm sector in a bid way. You should create awareness about the benefits of these laws across the country.”

He said that the new laws would “empower” farmers and bring “prosperity” to small and marginal farmers through technological interventions.
