MUMBAI: Almost a decade after it went missing, batting legend Sunil Gavaskar has managed to trace the ball which the then India skipper MS Dhoni famously smashed into the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) pavilion at the Wankhede Stadium to seal India’s World Cup triumph in the final against Sri Lanka on April 2, 2011. The legend has managed to locate the particular seat on which the person sitting had caught the ball that Dhoni hit.
MCA Apex Council member Ajinkya Naik had suggested last month that the seat on which the person sitting caught Dhoni’s six should be demarcated and the ball should also be found.
