Amazon’s The Expanse Confirmed For Sixth And Final Season

The acclaimed sci-fi drama The Expanse has been greenlit for a sixth season. Although the show was saved from cancellation in 2018 by Amazon, it’s been confirmed that Season 6 will be the final one.

According to Deadline, The Expanse Season 6 has been given the greenlight ahead of Season 5 hitting Amazon next month. It’s is currently scheduled to start production in January. Showrunner Naren Shankar is returning, as are most of the show’s main cast.

One cast member that isn’t coming back, however, is Cas Anvar, who has played Alex Kamal in all the seasons so far. In June, it was reported that Anvar had been accused of sexual misconduct, leading to an investigation by Expanse producers Alcon Entertainment. While the findings of this investigation have not been revealed to date, Anvar will not be back for the final season.
