NYC Movie Theaters Are Re-Opening This Weekend, And Tenet Will Be There

Batman director Christopher Nolan’s big-budget action movie Tenet opened in theaters back in August 2020, but the film never played in New York City because cinemas there were closed. Now that they are opening again this weekend, Tenet will get to play in one of the biggest movie markets on the US east coast.

Deadline reports that Tenet will play in the following cinemas starting this Friday, March 5: AMC Lincoln Square, AMC Empire, AMC Kips Bay, Village East by Angelika (70mm), and Showcase Cinemas Jamaica.

Tenet will be available in both IMAX and 70MM at the AMC cinema in Lincoln Square.

According to Deadline, Nolan was involved in the “behind-the-scenes” discussions with New York State governor Andrew Cuomo’s team that successfully convinced the politician to re-open cinemas in the city. Movie theaters in New York State had been open since October 2020, but March 5 is the first time they are re-opening in New York City.
